Belle are you someone that cooks a lot? If so, what is easier route: baked linguine, Shepherds pie, or slow cook a roast or something?

This. Throw it in the slow cooker and let it simmer for 6-8 hours.

Pot roast in a slow cooker. Just toss a roast, beef stock, salt, pepper, garlic, a bay leaf, potatoes, carrots, and onions in the pot and leave it on low for 7 or 8 hours.
