So would like to know what yall think. Lets say a 3 star from florida/texas/ cali from a 6-7 A school vs a 4 star from Alabama/ mississippi/ louisiana 3A school. Whats your thoughts?
I always tend to think you get a more developed player from the big states because the coaching, facilities, and certainly talent are so much better and deeper. OR, are the recriting scouts really that good and the stars are pretty accurate?
I don't mean this to be in any way about any specific player, just a topic to discuss. Your thoughts?

Sometimes you don't want a more developed player. Coaches want a kid that has talent and can be coached. Kids that are more developed are sometimes harder to coach because they think they know it all.

Not necessarily... the kid coming from the bigger program with better training/facilities may be more ready to contribute right away, but the guy who's getting by on raw athleticism and hasn't been getting the proper weight training/coaching could have WAY MORE upside.
CJ Mosley at Alabama is a good example... Theodore is terrible, but he's been an outstanding player, even though he wasn't as highly ranked in HS as some of their other LB signees.

I think that every situation is different and has to be evaluated by our staff. Probably best to have a bit of a mix.

I'm taking the in-state kid if the staff rates them equally by their standards.
