The injuries and lost talent from last year's squad, plus the adjustment...ignore all that shite.
Ignore the Arkansas game. Ignore the complete turn around in play. Ignore that all that shite. Let's just focus on the shitty year where EVERYBODY, including the coach, had some sort of health issue.
Now I am not sunshine pumping by any means, but for frick's sake. Are you gonna get on here and eat your words if Kennedy gets this team to the dance?

Losing players is squarely on Kennedy's shoulders. Only one of our defects was going to happen regardless of what he did.
I know the Branch family, and much of my opinion of Kennedy has to do with what I've been told via first hand accounts. Kennedy handled that situation as porry as one possibly could have. The culmination was a "meeting" in which Branch expressed concern about the direction of the offense and he told Branch to pipe down and tow the line or he was gone.

1. Billy Gillispie only had 7 scholarship players in 2004-2005. He didn't lose to Rice or Southern at home. Billy Kennedy ended a 67-game nonconference home winning streak by losing to RICE (a game in which we led by 7 at halftime and Dash Harris led all scorers with 14 points).
2. If Kennedy gets us to the dance, that would mean that the team did the following:
a. No further bad losses (i.e. sweep Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee)
b. At least 1 RPI Top 25 conference win (Florida, Missouri, and/or Ole Miss)
c. Have at least a split with LSU, Arkansas (check), and Alabama
d. Win a MINIMUM of 22 games (12 conference games) + 1-2 wins in the conference tournament.
If he somehow manages to do all that, and we make the dance, then you have reason to rub it in our faces.
HOWEVER, this is January. March is a LONG way away.

You know who the basketball coach was when I was in school? Tony Barone...until Watkins was hired my senior year.
