Maybe this is common amongst other schools but today I was over at a local schools commit's house and saw a letter that was from an Ole Miss female student, basically saying "I'm a junior at Ole Miss and couldn't imagine a better place to spend my years in college. She was "hoping he would come be apart of the Ole Miss family, how wonderful the Oxford community is.... how welcoming, friendly, and loving the OM student body faculty and staff is.... We would love for you to be apart of the Ole Miss family. That if there is anything I can assist you with in anyway, let me know." signed ______ ______.
Do schools across the country really get female students to send out letters to recruits like this?

If he came for a visit during an open visit weekend for interested students then that's why he got that letter. Every one that attends one of those weekends gets a letter sent to them like that. I would know I've had to write quite a few.

Don't be jelly you have no hot girls to send out letters. Recruits usually don't care for the "hot" 300lb cheerleader type.... IMO

Um yes.
The Ole Miss Ambassadors have been doing this for decades. They don't just write to potential student athletes, but to students in general. Get a good enough ACT score or be a badass football player and you'll get all sorts of handwritten letters from Ole Miss. "Come to Ole Miss, Oxford is great, I love my professors, I have so much fun, etc etc blablabla."
