You know they lost to LSU in 2011 and Texas A&M in 2012, and played close games in 2012 against LSU and Georgia, right? There are plenty of teams that are close, unless I misunderstand what you mean by "close."
Alabama is definitely the runaway pick for a dynasty if we must declare one, sure, but they're a little vulnerable for me to feel comfortable saying outright that they're a dynasty.

SUre they can be a dynasty. The great thing about dynasties is that as sure as they rise, they fall.

This is exactly how I feel. If Alabama had gone undefeated the last two years, then I would feel comfortable with the Dynasty tag. But in all reality, bama was really fortunate to be there these last two years. Dominoes just fell the right way for us. Now if Bama can put together another undefeated Championship season, then yes this is a modern day Dynasty.
