Sorry. I was wrong. How many times will you hear that on this board?

I based my post on a conversation with a neighbor who works in a local athletic department. A few years ago, I had invited him on a trip to Las Vegas for the first weekend of the NCAA tournament, which he declined. He told me then that he was prohibited from gambling, and I thought he said it applied to student athletes. I was wrong.

I texted him this morning and he cleared it up for me, with the following: "Manziel is not prohibited from playing table games. He can do that all he wants, but tweeting out pictures of it is something someone in his athletic department should try to stop today. That's inviting the NCAA to their campus to look at his finances."

So, for the third time in this post, I was wrong.

NCAA athletes are prohibited from breaking the law. He was legally gambling. Not sure if people care a 20 year old is holding a bottle of Dom.

for the record, the two main casinos near the Texas Oklahoma border (Winstar and Choctaw) don't have sports books. No problem to me seeing him have fun, but leave it off the social media.
