I agree road. No way in hell he is on the hot seat. Florida is way ahead of schedule and I know the bowl loss wasn't fun but to think he is on the hot seat is as dumb as it gets.

I saw Muschamp on the sidelines last night with that 'deer in the headlights' look. He looked like he didn't have a clue what was happening. Certainly no 'booom, mf'er' look was happening.
Kind of reminded me of John L. this past season.

It will be interesting if Uga goes on a decent streak against him. But no he's very safe barring a terrible year.

In Saban's 2nd year at LSU, he won the SEC Championship.

In Saban's 2nd year at Bama, he won his division.

In Richt's 2nd year at UGA, he won the SEC.

In Les Miles' 1st year at LSU, he won his division.

In Urban Meyer's 2nd year, he won the SEC.

In Muschamp's first year, nothing. Second year, nothing.

Just something to think about.

Year 1 - Went 7-6 and won a shitty bowl.

Year 2 - Missed the national title chance by 1 game and didn't win the SEC. Got beat down in the Sugar Bowl by a shitty team and finished in the top 10.

Year 3 - Brings in the number 1 recruiting class and enters the year with a ton of experience all over the field....

That's a bio of Nick Saban at Alabama....not Will Muschamp.

Muschamp is going to be just fine at UF.

But he did win his division in that second year...

If you want to get technical, so did Muschamp. He won a share of the SEC East....but lost the tie breaker to UGA for the right to play Bama.

I don't care about that. The end of the year had the same results.

Saban also proved in 2011 that winning your division is meaningless....

Would you have your coach on the hot seat after in year 2 he finished 11-2?

Maybe if he was Gene Chizik? Other than that, I got nothing....

If like Richt Muschamp is a decade or more in and hasn't been a serious player for the MNC I probably will not want him around, whether or not he won the SEC in year 2. That crap flies at UGA, not UF.

Every time you are in the SEC championship game, you are a serious player for the MNC.

All of the previously mentioned coaches had accomplished that by their second year.

Some of them (Richt and Saban/LSU) won it.

That's a fiction. UGA with Richt at the helm was never a serious player. But either way, I guess what I mean is I want to at least see UF in the MNC game in the next decade. If like Richt Muschamp can't get them there, my guess is he probably won't be around. Foley is into championships, not feel good church visits and goofy smiles.

Eh UF has never fired a coach that won the SEC. They just leave.

That's right. UF isn't a retirement plan like UGA.
