Media observation and question re: SEC and B1G

I've always been inclined to cheer for SEC teams in bowl season, but this is my first year watching as an "official" (I guess) SEC fan. I guess I'm looking at things a little differently. So I have a question.
Is the media bias toward B1G teams always this pronounced? Seriously. It's like the SEC is the boss they don't like but can't afford to piss off - they're respectful, but that's about it, and you get the impression they'd take us down if they could. They act like the B1G, on the other hand, is the second coming and slobbered over every move made today by Michigan, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Even Northwestern. It's awful! Is it always this bad toward the SEC? And why?

SEC viewed as top dog. Others viewed as David in a David vs Goliath situation. Also rest of the country mad.

I would actually say the other way around. ESPN/media is obsessed with the SEC.

I didn't notice anything different today as opposed to other years. So I guess you can say that everything you heard today is par for the course.

The media thrives on conflict, and there's always more conflict when you side with the small dogs vs. the big dogs.

You have your bias towards your beloved conference while I have my bias against your beloved conference.

I haven't noticed anything different this year. They only respect us because they have to. They can't wait for someone to take the SEC down.

Are you kidding me? There hasnt been in team in the country thats received more hate from the media then Ohio State. They literally clown on Ohio State every chance they get. Mark May and Reece Davis are two of the biggest haters ive heard. ESPN loves, and i mean...LOVES the SEC. Dont know what you're listening to? They slob all over Saban! Its the complete opposite of everything you just posted.

Always has been. Northern and west coast bias has always been horrible. Larger populations in those areas and needing to feel better by looking down on the south is all they know.

I think he meant game announcers. They want the little ten to beat the SEC bad.

ESPN benefits from hyping the SEC, which they do without shame. But most of them are not SEC graduates or SEC fans, and this frequently comes out in segments where you hear analysis and longer comments.
