I really don't buy into the "Texas A&M has more in-state talent so their potential is far greater" argument. If that were true, why has Oklahoma been a more successful program than Texas? Texas has 10x the in-state that Oklahoma has yet Oklahoma has more national championships and has been more dominant for longer periods of time.

This is a sad post.
For one, Oklahoma's team has been littered with Texans throughout its history and particularly under Stoops.
Secondly, Oklahoma, unlike Arkansas, has a national recruiting base. They can muster 12 or so guys from half a dozen states to supplement those they take from Texas that equal the quality they could get from a class exclusively from Texas.
Did you really think OU's recruiting lifeblood is the state of Oklahoma?
Third, lets not pretend there's a gaping hole between OU and Texas with regard to the programs' respective pedigrees. They're both fairly considered top 5 programs historically. With regard to recent trends, Mack is scared shitless of Bob.

Oklahoma has been more successful than Texas because of coaching.
If Texas had a Saban, Stoops, Gundy, Kelley..... they would be scary.

Arky fans only response is their usual "you mad?"-Esque responses because they know OP is right. They have nothing to look forward to. They hired a mediocre coach. The only talent they're getting is in proximity.
I'd say I'm not the rustled one. I'm not taking my frustration out on this board like Arky fans are.
