Pressure to win every game

The last 5 years have caused me to feel the way I felt in the 60's and 70's while growing up. Its great but also a curse. I would be depressed pretty bad when we would lose a game back then because it was so unusual.
Also I would catch hell from fans of other teams when we lost.
I am glad you younger guys who suffered through the relatively lean years that followed the 70's are getting to experience this. Its great but also a burden in some ways if you really love football.
Thanks to Coach Saban for bringing back that old feeling.

It's not a burden, theres no pressure. It's football, anyone can and will win. If the team doesn't win every game guess what it changes or what will happen the next day? Nothing different.
At the end of the day it's all just a game and in a few years it won't matter at all.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I have to fight to keep from letting football become a negative for me - entitlement, anxiety, etc. Remembering Mike Dubose helps keep me grounded.
It's a wonderful thing to experience, and this time around I am doing better at enjoying the wins rather than nervously expecting them.

Really?
The next downturn in fortune I sense another decade plus slow dance with the NCAA.

It's tough to be the hunted. See Kansas State and Oregon this year. Hard to stay on top, have everyone play their best game against you and stay unbeaten, especially in this League.

CNB adding nothing of value since 2007. Impressive

I wouldn't be so quick to talk about "adding nothing of value" as a Missouri fan.

I was a lot more depressed when we only won 4 games in one year and no hope of ever winning a NC. Losing a game now just means that Saban will use it to win one the next year.

Suit yourself. No pressure here, its just a game played by 18-22 year olds. Sure, irs fun to be passionate about it but i rarely take losses too hard. Its all about perspective.

paul, I am reading this original post as someone already making excuses. Is this really what you trying to get across here?

It has been hell. This is something I never thought I'd see except on the videos prior to kickoff. Can't say anything other than it's finally great to see what our "tradition" is all about. Winning. (If I can find the video of Mark Barron from ESPN Training days, I'll make a gif).

you're going to walk away.... and we'll pretend that never happened

THAT attitude is why Missouri will never be a national power.
Won't matter in a few years? The HELL you say. Many of us older fans were ecstatic when we got Notre Damn for all the marbles,we are still pissed about 1966 1973 and so on and it is payback time.
You saw the difference on the field this year when your team got the ever loving crap stomped out of it by Alabama. We do take our football very seriously.

You're doing it wrong. LSU is 135-36 the last 13 years but I still savor and enjoy every win
