Growing up, my parents house sits only a couple miles away from the Mississippi River. Now in St. Louis it is most likely 3 to 1, maybe even 4 to 1 of a Missouri - Illinois Fan split. In St. Louis they really dont even get radio coverage (I really dont understand why yall cant do this in Kansas City also) as Mizzou dominates the airwaves. However, you wouldnt have known during the 9 straight streak or the NC run they had in 2005. Now I wont compare them to Beakers or Nubs, but the arrogance will be there downtown tomorrow. From Madison County, to Peoria, to Cairo...it will be there tomorrow. Because unlike with our former conference foes, Illini fans would also like to tout the superiority of the Big Ten. Why low scoring college games were superior to whatever we had. Why a "Backwards" state like ours was too "redneck" to associate with them. Well tomorrow night, I say frick that shite. I hear some of our fans say, that this isnt a rivalry or that its just for people in St. Louis, but that is not true even in the slightest. Sometimes when I hear that, it astounds me how much these people hate us.

Personally, I hope we beat the living shite out of those Cubs-loving, deep dish eating, mascot changing, Orange and Blue motherfrickers.

So tomorrow, I am going to get up and get prepared for the game. I will listen to them talk about our fanbase being "trashy". I will watch as my aunt comes in to watch the game with us, clad in Orange and Blue. I will think about the rest of my family in the Quad Cities pulling for the incorrect side of the rivalry. But best of all I will see us win. And when we win, it reasserts us back into the forefront and into the Top 10.
This is the same school that ran away from us for going 6 straight on them in Football. Time to cement another serious streak in Basketball and drive the point in both sports for good.
