I know some of you still haven't, (after talking to some of my younger family member they have no concept of reality, and think Bama will be on top for the rest of their life

It got me to thinking when i was younger I figured Alabama had a chance for the NC every year and though the players got overlooked in award season 95-02 range

It was probably around 15 or so for me

LSU and aggy fans here seem to struggle to realize their place in football from reading their posts.

Same can be said for Mizzou fans in basketball.

Again LSU fans carry the flame in baseball.

First year with season tickets at age 9. The stumble and fumble in Knoxville caused me to shed tears that night and actually had dreams the hogs won.

That's not the point. I've been drinking all day by the pool and heading to the Italian place tonight. Got the secks last night and will be TTC later tonight.

aka- honeymoon, wife is in the shower and I'm on TD.

I grew up during the curley and dinardo years and I remember getting so excited if we broke the top 25 now I get mad if we fall out of the top 10

I was in school for Goff/Donnan... getting raped by Tennessee and Florida every year. So, I guess I had the privilege of never being unrealistic ... although I would much rather have been spoiled by success.

When I was young, I thought Freddie Kitchens was one of the best QB's in Alabama history. I was not a smart child.

It didn't occur to me that Bama had a great history until I was old enough to notice that adult Auburn fans suffered from a serious case of butthurt, which didn't make sense to me because Auburn seemed to win iron bowl more often than not during my childhood.

A good club that could, every once in a while, contend with great teams, but always a step behind UA and UT (late 60's, 70's and 80's). The 90's (some of it) was an anomaly hopefully not repeated. 2000 till now one of the great teams others want to beat. Still uncertain if it's a long anomaly or a more or less a permanent perch (hopefully the latter, we'll see). Either way, been gravy for over a decade now.

It's been a bit odd for me. The age I really started to realize where the Hogs stood was a few years before the rebirth of the program. So I was very aware of the Horrible Nutt years, but then 06 happened and it's been improving ever since.

When I was young (early 90s) Alabama had just always been great and I figured that was how it was and would always be and that was the extent of my Alabama football knowledge. Then in 1997 (I was 12) Bama went 4-7 and I was floored. That was when I started actually keeping up with Bama football, recruiting, coaching changes, schemes, position changes, etc. I was trying to educate myself and figure out why the frick Alabama was so horrible all of a sudden.

Btw: The fact that Shaun Alexander was not invited to the Heisman ceremony in 1999 was criminal.

14 was when I realized that "We have more Heisman winners than you!" was not an adequate comeback to "We have many more national championships than you!"

Hm. Probably when I was 11. So happy to be winning te SEC. Knew that we sucked in the 90s but could be a consistent winning team.
