Today was... ugh. Reason for changing #1 is that the supposed best team in the conference should never blow a 6 point lead with a minute left due to 3 straight turnovers on inbounding plays and having a 90% FT shooter miss a 1-in-1 with 20 seconds remaining. Complete clusterfrick.

1) Missouri
2) Florida
3) Kentucky
4) Ole Miss
5) Alabama
6) Tennessee
7) LSU
8) Texas A&M
9) South Carolina
10) Arkansas
11) Auburn
12) Vanderbilt
13) Mississippi State
14) Georgia

I haven't watched Tennessee, but they certainly have to be better than us

Y'all lost to a top 10 team on the road and y'all weren't outplayed.

Florida still #1 in conference.
2. Mizzou
2a. Kentucky
4. Arkansas
5. Alabama
5a. Tennessee
7. Ole Miss

The rest. A pitiful lot.

Wait, are we getting better? Or is the conference just getting worse?

1) Florida
2) Missouri
3) Kentucky
4) Tennessee
5) Ole Miss (though they've played nobody and lost to Middle Tenn, so they could actually suck)
6) Alabama
7) Arkansas (no good wins, but several competitive losses to good to great teams. They also beat OU who beat us by double digits yesterday).
8/9) LSU/Texas A&M
10) South Carolina
11) Auburn
12) Vanderbilt
13) Mississippi State
14) Georgia

Top 3 are our only sure fire NCAA bids. Tenn will probably get in. Bama is a bubble team that's probably on the NIT side. Ole Miss could get in, but their non-con is gawd awful - best OOC game is Rutgers. And no Rutgers isn't any good - so they'll need to win a lot of games in conference to get in.

I left the bottom 5 in the same order the OP had them in, but there are so many inexcusable losses scattered among them that it's hard to come up with any proper ranking. My feeling is that Mississippi St. is the king, though. Got blown out by a Texas team that lost to Chaminade and that's shooting .400 as a team. Lost by nearly 30 to a good, but not great, Marquette team. Lost to a very bad Troy team. Lost by double digits to the Providence Friars (whoever the frick they are haha). Yea, that's a bad, bad basketball team. Sorry grinders.

Oklahoma beat us by 10, Arkansas beat Oklahoma. Flip the two schools.

I love the alternative universe that SEC basketball is. A place where SEC fans claim their team sucks more than your team. But at least SEC fans don't make excuses if / when our conference sucks.

This may end up being one of the worst years for SEC basketball in a long time, and that's really saying something. Only three or four NCAA teams is a legit possibility.

I like Anthony Grant, but his teams have the same pattern. We'll knock off a couple of teams we shouldn't, lose to a couple we shouldn't, barely make the NCAA & lose in the 1st or 2nd round.

so SEC Basketball is the Bizzarro World to SEC Football.

I know the Aggies aren't the best, but it's a real eye opener when fans from their school are saying that they deserve to be seeded LOWER. I don't think I ever saw that this passed football season.

When does baseball come back again?

If anyone thinks these rankings are unfair then... well... they need to watch more than their own team. But anyone putting Arkansas in the top 4 in the SEC is out of their fricking minds

If we're the 5th best team in the SEC, the SEC is in trouble. We suck.
