They really aren't. In the early 2000's no one talked about Bama. Even when USC and ND suck they are talked about. There are not kids in Washington , Oregon, and Maine wearing Bama gear. Come on. You realize you can be a top 5 ALLTIME football program AND NOT be national.

No one has been talking about ND for 20 years.......Bama fans are everywhere and to say Bama is not a national brand, as much as any college football team can be, is just more butthurt nonsense from Bama haters

Michigan and Oklahoma have #1 and #3 winning percentage all time and aren't really national. A debate could be had about Texas and tOSU.
