While some of our posters have gone full retard, I'll agree with this too. The Rant and the SEC seems to be a little miffed that we didn't play into their narrative of "A&M is going to be the whipping-boy of the SEC". They act like we've violated some rules of decorum for refusing to be Kentucky in our first year.

We kinda did, though.
As evidenced by how quickly the narrative switched in the offseason to "well, y'all still didn't win a title/go to ATL/didn't finish higher than 3rd in the West." Those were hardly goals coming into the season, yet now it's supposedly zinger smack. It's funny, is all, after the preseason babble around here last year.

well shite, they have 70 years on us. if we only have 2 SEC championships by 2084, then that would be decent smack talk

There were lots of things people didn't forsee going into last year. I thought the Aggies would win about 8 games, but I didn't see Arkansas completely fricking tanking (I thought they'd win about 8-9 games) and no one saw Auburn going 0-8 in the SEC, so it's easy to say how A&M shocked everyone but so did Auburn and Arkansas.

That's all well and good but how the hell do you expect LSU fans to take you seriously when we beat you in your own house in the greatest year you've ever had and it wasn't even hard?

Get a grip aggies. You played one quarter of football against us in spite of the '12th man' and then you got taken to school. Then you got our leavings with Alabama after they played their hardest game of the year.
You are about to find out where you really are in the grand scheme of things. 3rd in the west last year was your high water mark.

Take it however you like. You're stuck with it for all time now. Because there's a lot of truth there. Whether it's the whole truth or not, nobody can ever say.
But just realize that you look delusional as hell to a lot of folks who know college football these days. And it isn't going to take but a few months to either prove them right, or wrong.
