When the Bear came to Bama from A&M in 1958 it was going to be a whole lot harder for Ole Miss period! What if Darrell Royal had stayed at MSU where he started and not gone to UT and the Southwest Conference? Image the Bear, Royal and Vaught all coaching in the SEC against each other. Ole Miss won the SEC in 1960, 1962 and 1963. Yeah that was 3 times in the Bear's first 6 years but he took over after that.
