No, you would have certainly caught some. I just don't drop shot much in the winter. Jigs and Spotsticker stuff along with spoons and jerkbaits. But the drop shot is effective.

Honest question for a pro.

I fish Oconee a lot, and although I use many rigs, a Carolina rig is one of my staples.

Now I normally would use a 7ft3 inch heavy action rod with 15lb fouro as mainline, but last fall I started using 40lb power pro super slick and a long crankbait rod for bend due to the non stretch of the braid.

I like this braid set up for the long hooksets the carolina rig requires. Do you think that medium action crankbait rod is the way to go, or should I use a faster rod with the braid?
