I understand the history

I don't think you do. It's a curse that Melvin brought on himself through some utterly stupid comments and certain recruiting tactics.

2 conference losses to end the 2002-2003 season
0-17 in conference in 2003-2004.

After that, he was famously quoted as saying, "No one can win here".

After Gillispie went 21-10, crushing Missouri and assistant coach Watkins in the process, Watkins did two things: He claimed that, if he just had more time, he could have easily gotten the same results as Gillispie, then tried to recruit Donald Sloan away from A&M by telling him we'd never reach the tournament.

From 2006-2008, we were the better team, so there was no talk of a curse.

It was the 2009 game that really made us believe that Watkins was cursed. We beat Missouri (the Elite Eight version) by double digits in our conference regular season finale, being up by as many as 30 (Anderson's first season).

In 2010, we ended the 33-game home winning streak to the absolute shock of everyone but those familiar with the curse.

In 2011, Missouri inexplicably shot less than 42% from the line against A&M and lost in overtime. In the Big 12 tournament, we blew them out.

In 2012, Melvin Watkins was no longer with Missouri...they swept us easily.

The Melvin Watkin's curse is cute. It's not real. The fact you're treating it so seriously makes me a lil concerned.

If curses worked, Lawrence would've burned in a fire long ago.
