So who is the player. She says in the article that he shouldn't have been recruited in the first place because he has a history of that kind of behavior. Anyone on the team with a notable past?

I read another article on this. Said the player had anger management issues, and problems on his high school team related to that. Didn't say his name though, just that teammates and parents had an issue with him and he had a temper.
And the other girl they talked about, who wouldn't press charges, said there was more than one player involved. Sounds like things routinely get swept under the rug there. I'm sure this happens other places too, but when you set yourself up as an institution of the highest character like ND, it just looks worse. As a private, Catholic university of supposedly the highest standards, I expect more. Not that it wouldn't happen there, because athletes make mistakes like everyone else. But they should deal with it openly, honestly, immediately and without regard to who they are.
