Apparently my buddy almost had a road incident after listening to Mike and Mike interview JM and say, afterwards, "what a respectable young man". His eyes rolled into the back of his head.
But there is a business partnership between these two entities. This is to be expected.

Yeah, I remember the kid's recruitment and how it was well known that he was considered a HUGE risk. Even Bob Stoops wouldn't recruit the kid and Stoops once signed a kid that was arrested for trying to stab a 15 year old with a screwdriver and before that Bob reinstated a player who beat a friend with a baseball bat until he was in a coma. Manziel was committed to Oregon for a while which is kind of a red flag in and of itself but nobody thought this kid would make it anywhere and that line of thinking had nothing to do with his talent.
In fact, the former Florida State QB Chris Rix, who was at the time working for Fox Sports went to A&M watched some practices and talked to people and then tweeted (and eventually deleted) this... "Sources have told me that Manziel is a 'ticking time bomb' and will eventually blow up off of the field. I really hope not for his sake." Frankly, we all kind of expected that and were pretty shocked when he was named the starting QB, especially since he wasn't a Sumlin recruit and I think everybody thought was one that Sumlin would "push out".
As far as I know, he has cleaned his act up. Sometimes added pressure causes a kid to grow up and get his act together. I hope that is the case here.

Don't worry, he'll be out of prison in time to beat that arse again next year.
