Pat Dye liked Kirby because of all their similarities, both played at Georgia and coached at bama. Like Coach Dye once was, Smart is a tough defensive coordinator with a bright future ahead of him.
And no you don't get any job by asking for 5 weeks off right away so you can try to help your new employers biggest rival win a NC.
Ya think St Nick would be cool with that if the shoe was on the other foot???

bullshite. Successful football programs are run by one man, the head coach and it has always been that way. This is further evidence that the people at the top in Auburn still refuse to hand over control of the program and this will be their demise.

Smart was the perfect hire for Auburn and I am so glad that they fricked up this hire. Smart has way too much class to associate himself with that shithole. I am a firm believer that Pat Dye will have to die before it turns around at Auburn.

Should have never fired Tubberville. Tubbs is the best coach Auburn has ever had and they fired him because he refused to listen to a babbling drunk.

Auburn is in bad shape.
