I still don't understand why people are so focused on "was he defenseless" or not. That's not the issue, as soon as the ball is picked off he's fair game.

The issue is that his helmet was hit by QD's helmet, which should automatically be a penalty without any hesitation at all by an official.

Wrong. That only applies to defenseless players (Murray in the act of throwing). Murray going to make a tackle doesn't get this kind of automatic penalty.

You would have to prove Dial led with the crown of his helmet (which he didn't) in this case.

Agreed. Whether he was in play or not, Dial put his helmet into Murray's jaw. Anyone who doesn't see that is blind.

And Bama fans, this is coming from an Ag, so spare your "butthurt" and "whining" comments. They don't apply here.

I agree with this 100%. I think the only reason it was not called is the official was standing behind Murray and could not see if there was helmet to helmet contact.
