Except that the two tackles were at different times. Murray, when hit, was about 9 yards(north/south) and about 4-5 yards (east/west) away from the ball. Yess after both incidents they may have been 4 yards a part
Yeah, that's how it works. Players are running and the guy that is carrying the ball is moving closer as he runs.
Murray was 100% in this play the entire time.
I guess if we take up your definition, then punt return would cease to exist or how about kick off return? Sometimes you are blocking for the return man who may literally be 60 feet away from you.

These are all Bama posters.

It happens. Bama got it called against them in the TAMU game, and they got away with it. No conspiracy.

Even though I agree that should have been flagged.

The only thing that might be thinking is it was a block when the ball was being returned. Beyond that it should have been flagged.

It was a missed call, just like they missed the shot Eddie Lacy took to the head in the aTm game, but you didnt see me crying about a ref bias. shite happens.

I dont agree with the Dial hit...should hve been a flag

I've said numerous times that the hit doesn't warrant a suspension. But it was clearly a cheap shot.
agree

Call it clean if you want (I disagree) but either way, it was cheap. He wanted to knock the frick out of the QB. Deserved a flag.
He was a defender running towards the ball at that point, not the QB anymore.

Dial still viewed him as the QB, I promise.

All you gumps are hiding behind the fact that the hit wasn't technically illegal. That doesn't mean it wasn't completely unnecessary and a total cheap shot though. Do you ever wonder why they have personal fouls for UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS? It's because a player didn't technically break any rule but what they did crossed a line as far as player safety.
Funny enough I think that is what the SEC is saying in that statement. They acknowledge that the hit was technically "legal" but that it should have been flagged for unnecessary roughness. No matter how much you guys keep quoting the rule book it was still a cheap shot.

I was only responding to your incorrect asessment that Murray was his 10ft from the player with the ball at the point when he got hit. no need to get butt hurt and deflect. I never said he was not "in this play"

Was there a thread on Honey Booger's hit on Smelley after Maze's pulled hammie punt return? Know why?

So why even make your statement?
It has no bearing on this issue except to try to prove Murray "was not in this play"

So? He was still a defender running towards the ball, I promise you Murray knows that. And I agree that Dial just wanted to take it out on him. But a defender, whether he is starting qb or not, running towards the ball is not a defenseless player, end of story.

Obvious you have NEVER played football. DL are taught to try to take out QB's after INTs since the beginning of time. QB's know this and as such try to get out of the way 99% of the time. Murray's dumb arse went straight to the action like a moron and got what he deserved.

Do you not understand what I'm trying to say? frick..
I was saying that Dial simply wanted to knock the frick out of the Qb..as in the guy who plays QB for Georgia. So he became a defender, ok. Whatever. So let's just all say it wasn't helmet to helmet (even though it clearly was), it was still a cheap shot.
A cheap shot is a cheap shot is a cheap shot. And that was a cheap shot. A cheap helmet to helmet shot.
