Because if your greatest coach ever, the one who builds your program from relative mediocrity to national contender, leaves for the NFL for two years, then comes back to the college ranks at a school in the same division, Florida fans don't take it as personally and harbor so much hatred about it.


Unlike some fans I know.

If Spurrier had gone to Tennessee or possibly Georgia, Fla fans might feel differently. Just speculation.
