We were bitter in-state rivals for well over 100 years. That ain't gonna disappear in 9 months.
Oh, also the entire lot of them has bought into DeLoss' "We are the Joneses" line, so it pisses them off to no end that our program is skyrocketing upward while they're mired in mediocrity with King Mack doing his best Bowden impression. They truly can't freaking stand it.

the hate comes from being their major rival for over a century. we are also the only other program in the state that has had a period of sustained success (80s and 90s).and then we left in a very messy way. in all seriousness, every single one of the 4 texas programs that were in the original big 12 (tu, tech, baylor, and us) all HATE each other. i mean real hate. if you gave tech a chance to kill any one of our programs (a la SMU death penalty) they would probably do it without a second thought. we had a really toxic relationship with all 3 and the fact that we were tu's main competition for such a long time(in terms of on field success and pretty much everything else) just compounds that and thats were the hate come from

Yeah the hate goes back a long time and now that Texas has lost the control they had over us it's even more tangible on their part.

It's jealousy. The Aggies have clearly turned the tables on Texas for the first time ever. Texas is jealous of the Aggies being in the SEC while they sit in a chicken shite conference. The SEC is college football and the rest is a joke.
Texas has been punked by the Aggies and Texas will see it in recruiting. Kids in Texas are going to want to play in the SEC.
Moving to the SEC was the best move the AGgies have ever made and tey are a great addition to our conference.
