No you guys are right, a bowl that has been around forever and has a prestigious history is way worse than a johnny come lately bowl against an awful big10 school.

The Cap One Bowl has been around since 1947 making it just 10 years yonger than the Cotton. Both potential opponents in the Cap and Cotton are going to be 8-4 unless there are upsets on Saturday.

The Florida Citrus Bowl (Capital One predecessor) has been tied to the SEC and is a far more historic "SEC" bowl than it is with the Cotton.

The Cotton has not had an SEC school every year. In fact, prior to 1999, when it became an SEC/Big 12 game, the SEC only had a team (who was in the SEC at that time) in the Cotton Bowl 20 times (1937-1998)
