As others have stated, you can trace one the milestones of our decline back to that game.

This theory makes no sense at all..........if you actually take the time to think about it.

It's basically saying that Alabama beat us at home by 11 points and it was so horrifying and humiliating and awful that it sent the program into a tailspin for years.

Give me a fricking break. That's ridiculous. And gives Alabama waaaaaaaaaaaay too much credit.

The '08 team was chock full of DGDs, but there were more folks looking out for their own individual interests to be a cohesive unit. Stafford, Moreno, Justin Houston, others. DGDs in their own rights on the field, but they were treading water until they could declare for the draft. That mindset spread to some of the younger guys right behind them, and that's when the lack of discipline really started tailspinning in the offseason.

Yes, we've got guys who will leave early for the draft, and more power to them. The distinction this time is that when they leave early this time, they'll do so having contributed to something bigger this season. The ones that could have gone back in the spring stuck around to make sure the team is in exactly the place they are today. There's a unity among this team- a player ownership- that wasn't there 4 years ago.

Maybe but we hyped it with a blackout and proceeded to get blown out in the first half. Stafford and our receivers made a valiant come-back in the 2nd half but it was too little too late. Meanwhile Bama went on to 2 NC's. It was one of too many big games since that led to the reality that UGA has not played well against ranked opponents over a long stretch.

Good let them take all the credit they want. Let em get pumped up about how easy we're gonna be. That's exactly the mindset we want them to come in with.

And for the Dawgs, they don't need to change a damn thing in the way they've been preparing for games since UF. If the coaches try and add in any gimmicks, special ed uni's, motivational videos, hallmark cards, whatever, for added hype, it will be a mistake. When a dog is starving, sometimes all you need to do is turn 'em loose on the raw meat and blood. Nothing else is needed.

And these Dawgs look pretty frickin hungry to me.
