You SHOULD just try and make it like any other game, keep pressure off the players. Instead, Murray has a media blackout. He should know Blackout's don't work. It's a gimmick.
ATLANTA -- With Georgia one win away from playing for a national championship, quarterback Aaron Murray has suddenly imposed a media blackout.
The school said Monday that Murray met with coach Mark Richt and got permission to be relieved from his media responsibilities leading up to the Southeastern Conference championship game between the third-ranked Bulldogs (11-1) and No. 2 Alabama (11-1).
Murray has always been one of Georgia's most accessible players, usually meeting with the media on Tuesdays and after games. But he gave a hint that his approach would change when he didn't hang around following last week's win over Georgia Tech, appearing to catch the sports information staff off guard.
In the Bulldogs' lone loss this season, a 35-7 blowout by South Carolina, Murray completed only 11 of 31 passes for 109 yards, including an interception. He was just 12 of 24 for 150 yards against Florida, with three interceptions, but the defense bailed out the Bulldogs in a 17-9 victory.

Probably a good idea. He's choked on so many games they need to do something different.

What does that have to do with Richt's handling of big games, when it plainly says Murray asked him for the media blackout....???

He's won many, many big games during his career here.

Our starting QB doesn't want any unnecessary distractions and instead is focusing only on his prep work for Alabama. Yeah, that sure is a gimmick I tell ya.

We're 2-1 in blackouts numbnuts. And the reason we lost the 1 had nothing to do with our jersey and everything to do with the fact we lost to the much better team.

yes, that was cute and adorable reading in the paper this morning how the Alabama players are saying this is just another game. Sure it is.
