This is really all you need to know about Aggies. Sticking it to Texas is greater than winning a national championship.

Well, fricking longhorn, not according to THIS:

quote:

all I can say is that if what one source told me this morning was true, there's some serious disagreement on how Texas should move forward.

Here are a few things shared today:

What's lighting a fire right now has more to do with Aggy than it does with OU. There's always been a sort of tolerance with Mack and OU as it relates to former players and donors. Some may disagree with that but that has been the case since Texas was on that 5 game losing streak. Nobody liked being second to OU but they could point to how well Texas did against the rest of the league and especially A&M. To some degree the A&M game really kept the heat off Mack because Texas we so dominant in that series under Mack. The irony here is that Mack can't hold that game up anymore since Texas no longer plays them. But their success this year has really lit a fire for some at Texas.

"The thing that's being thrown around right now is how Texas compares to where Texas A&M was this time last year. Sherman had a losing record in conference play in four years, The Aggy BOR acted primarily because a few former players
and boosters demanded action and went against some of the big name donors. Aggy was financially strapped and had to pay Sherm a significant buyout but they wanted to change the culture at texas a&m bad enough to make it happen. They were desperate for a change and knew they couldn't afford to start SEC play with the same program they had in the big 12. They changed their culture with one hire. It was a huge gamble but it paid off and they are relevant nationally again for the first time in a long time. If you look at the last 3 years, Mack is really struggling in conference games. In fact, he's on a stretch in conference play not seen around here in a long, long time. people around the state have eyes and when Texas is struggling and the ags are getting all the pub people start to get a little nervous because Texas has been operating without pretty much any resistance from other teams in the state. That has not only changed but it's changed so much that you can argue that the two programs has switched places from there they were just 3 years ago in terms of relevance in the state. Not saying I agree with that but many feel that way. Could a very vocal group challenge the decision of Powers and Dodds the way the group of people at A&M did? I don't know. I still think Mack comes back next year but ending the year with 3 straight losses would be a tough sell for this group."

One guy told me this morning that Mack has all but cut off communication between himself and people not directly involved in the day to day operations at Texas.

"i've never seen him like this. The access that so many people had to him is all but gone and I think it's starting to backfire a little to be honest. Some people just aren't sure what's going on with him and the team because he's pulled back so much. Guys that were in his corner no matter what have started to question what it is he's trying to do not just with the program but with his attitude change. Some blame it on the LHN but I think all of it has taken it's toll on him. Everything seems laborious for him. "

I should have another update tonight or tomorrow.

Apparently, sticking it to "AGGY" is all the fricking longhorns care about. Dumb frick.
