in Rising Fawn, Georgia and the son wanted to see BDS up close. What was going on there on a Sunday afternoon? There were thousands of people all around it. Were you having HS playoffs or something?

No clue about BDS Sunday, but my family always stops at Rising Fawn's Pilot gas station on our way to Pigeon Forge. Best gas station to stop at around

Maybe the recruits and their families from this weekend or AU fans trying to exercise the demons.

As far as playoffs going on, they are going on but I think they are a week or two away from the State Championships which I think are at BDS this year.

I live in Tuscaloosa and I don't remember seeing in the paper about any type of event or fundraiser going on but there's no telling. There are a lot of local fundraisers and wedding receptions that go on at the stadium and most of the time the people will rent out the zone and have it there. But, with it being a football weekend there really is no telling what it was.

Glad you got to see the stadium though. It's cool to see how it has grown compared to when I was a kid. When I was a kid and went to my first Bama game there were no upper decks, no spiral walk ways. It was just the lower bowl and over on Tutweiler dorm side there was a fire station that was basically a few feet from the stadium.

You must have missed it on Sports Center.
They were there to raise the new national title flags. They are claiming the Tour de France titles that Lance Armstrong was forced to vacate.

Well, it wasn't high school playoffs. They've only just reached the semi-finals, and anyway, the finals should be at Jordan Hare this year. (They alternate them between whichever stadium is not holding the Iron Bowl that season)

Bryant-Denny hosted the local little league football all-star games. That was the reason for the crowds . . . and I'm not kidding.
