I've seen that number repeated many different ways, and yesterday it was tweeted that Ole Miss' team performed well against LSU despite only having 59 scholarship players against LSU's 85.

Sanctions from bad grades and players flunking out/leaving the team did this.

"healthy" scholarship players.....you are aware that from time to time, athletes suffer injuries and aren't able to compete in their sport?

For reference, see Mississippi State University, Program Formerly Known as: Men's Basketball.

Recruiting, coaches not being disciplined in terms of school work. Kids failed out or got in trouble. Freeze is trying to fix that mess. Nutt wasn't one to look over school and outside activities. That screwed us.

Yeah but the problem here is that Ole Miss is taking injuries and such off of their total and not LSU's. I know LSU is minus one at least.....and he doesn't give a shite.

Pretty sure we have WAY less than 85 scholarship players available. Probably around 70.

Chris Faulk
Tyrann Mathieu
Tyler Edwards
Tajh Jones
Josh Williford
Kwon Alexander
Alex Hurst
Evan Washington
Travin Dural

Plus we started 2 down when Fehoko Fanainka and Avery Johnson didn't qualify. And I might be missing a few people. This doesn't take into account people that are redshirting, because if you don't count those people you're being dishonest. They still practice and help the team prepare for the game.

ETA: I forgot Alfred Blue, so 73 players.

LSU went into Saturday with, at the most, 74 players on scholarship.

LSU doesn't have 85 "healthy" players either. They have been hit hard this year with injuries and also lost the startng CB and a LB due to other issues.
