The points in your OP are spot on. And as a Tiger fan I'm embarrassed by the Schadenfreude that those in our fan base who don't know what this means exude.

But I do offer a possible explanation for the elation over a Bama loss by anyone with an axe to grind: with your schedule against the East of late - and going forward - opportunities for Bama losses are few and far between.

Put another way: How many teams from the East are in the BCS top 10? How many has LSU played? How many has A&M played? How many has Bama played?

This embarrassing display has its roots in an argument that had Bama a slightly harder sked, they just might be a two-loss team as well.

Throttle Georgia in Atlanta and this notion will be moot. Lose and it will persist and fester.

LSU, Bama and A&M all have solid squads. We should all just be happy with that. But of course we won't.

I'll be happy if Mett continues his improved play. Estatic actually since the 1st half of the year precludes him from leaving early.
