If you take last year's SEC and Big 12, 3 of our 5 most played opponents are in the Big 12 (texas, tech, baylor), and 2 are in the SEC (arky, lsu)...Soo...we trade the top 3 for #4 and #5.
texas will be on our schedule again whether we like it or not in the next 5-10 years, so were talking about trading baylor/tech for LSU/arky. No brainer which option we prefer.
The Big 8 schools in the Big 12 we have 0 history with, and have only been with them for 15 years. The Okie schools and Kansas schools aren't any more or less "regional" than schools in the SEC West are to us.

I agree with all above we only had three real historic rivals in the Big 12 (tu, tech, baylor)... in the SEC we have two historic rivals (Arky, LSU). Not much of a drop.
Plus the conference is just better
