I would imagine both of them miss the regional rivalries
There's not much to miss. Other than Texas, we just hated Tech but it wasn't really a rivalry, and had Baylor pawing at us to try and start a rivalry with them. That was it. Would give it up again 100 times over.

I'm gonna miss playing on Thanksgiving. Not because we played texas, but because I liked playing on Turkey Day. Just a really special part of growing up for me since my Dad is an Ag as well. To me, Thanksgiving is:
--Macy's Parade in the morning
--Cowboys in the afternoon
--Thanksgiving dinner
--Aggies at night
Also miss the road trip to Waco to play Baylor but only because I used to live there and have a ton of friends still in Waco. Also because it was virtually a guaranteed W

The regional rivalries lost most of their luster.
For instance Baylor was so dominated by A&M if you Google "Kyle Field North" it shows their stadium. We literally had half the fans when we went there.
Tech was just an annoyance. Terrible fans that vandalized our bus on our last trip and threw batteries at players. They can't sell tickets unless they have a big opponent so they jack up the price of A&M/OU/Texas but for the cost of that 1 ticket you could buy season tickets for the most part.
OU was a fun game but we really didn't have a connection with them nor with the rest of the old Big 8 teams.
Texas was the only one that mattered and that one will eventually come back anyway, just too much money on the table. It would have been much tougher if we still had Bonfire. It wasn't worth hanging around in that joke of a conference though.
