I'm not saying Ingram is a great NFL Rb, but this is not the offense for him, and he hasn't got very many chances. Plus the Saints are awful this year.

Now this is something I can kind of work with.

Isn't mark Ingram pretty horrible in the nfl?

He's averaging 2.8 ypc. Definitely worth the 1st round pickup.

By comparison, the Patriots picked up Ridley in the third round, and he's averaging 4.8 ypc.

The Patriots are also a much more intelligent organization though.

Look like they're making a mistake by doing that to me, and all other Saints fans.

Ivory averaged 4.7 yards a carry last year.

The 3rd string RB is gonna be ineffective regardless in the Saints' offense this season. They run a passing offense and this year they are playing from behind a lot, so the 3rd back may get 5 touches a game.

He's not gonna take any carries from Sproles or Thomas, who has proved time and time again that they are the best players in the backfield.

Ingram is never gonna be a top back in the NFL, he's gonna be an 20 carry low YPC type back if he manages to be a starter. His natural tools as a RB cannot nullify his lack of physical ones. Lack of power and lack of explosion...

It worked for Chris Ivory, and has worked for Pierre Thomas.

Every time he touches it, he only gains 2-3 yards. They have better options.

Not their offense. Defense, absolutely. I agree.

You're right he could've.

Kimbo slice would probably kick Ingrams azz. On the other hand Kimbo doesn't have a Heisman Trophy either.

Honest to God truth, I think that knee injury to a lot of damage to Ingram.

He wasn't very good last year either.

Maybe the Saints aren't the right type of team for him to be on, but for a 1st round pick, you've got to be disappointed. I don't see him lasting very long in New Orleans, and unless he shows some real talent, I don't see him as a starter for too many other teams.

And yes, Ben Tate is way better than Ingram, as is Stevan Ridley.

He's such a waste of a draft pick. Dude is straight garbage and it's a huge joke that he won the heisman.

frick the Saints organization for drafting a mediocre RB in 1st round.

Get your arse back to the misc.

Nobody is saying that.

However, they've at least been serviceable and been able to average more than 3 yards a carry. Mark Ingram is averaging a whopping 2.9 yards per carry. That's not acceptable.

And with the Saints, he could pass for Ron Dayne.

It may be attributed to injury, but I never thought Ingram was gonna be a great back in the NFL. Maybe better than he is now, but nothing great. He was good in a lot of things, but great at nothing.

He was a rich man's Wisconsin RB prospect to me, if that makes much sense...
