On IMG QB Deondre Francois -- 4* #6 DT QB

quote:

The Top247 rising senior quarterback from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., said Tennessee is one of four teams currently standing out to him, along with Florida State, Oregon and Auburn, and he's planning to visit the Vols for the first time June 16 before announcing his decision next month.

"They're still coming hard," said Francois, who's ranked the nation's No. 152 overall prospect and No. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class. "They've just been telling me the same stuff. They're saying they love my release, and they just want me to come on a visit, and if I come on a visit, then I'll love it.

"I talked to Preston (Williams) ? a 2015 receiver who's committed there ? and he loved it when he went up there, so he's been talking to me about that. They're still recruiting me the hardest."

"(Jones tells me) just how he wants me to be at Tennessee a lot, and he thinks highly of me and he thinks that I'm the best quarterback for the program in the 2015 class. He just wants me there."

Francois said he's still hoping to make his choice in time to announce it at Nike's The Opening, which will be held July 7-10 in Beaverton, Ore.

"I think I'm going to be ready (by then)," he said. "I think I'm ready now. I just want to take a couple visits to see what I feel when I'm on campus. I don't think I should push it back. If I do, it'd be because I'm just not ready to make the decision yet.

"I've got to take my visit to Tennessee, and (then) I should be ready to commit."

Per P.Fort on this morning Recruiting News

quote:

I know there obviously is a lot of chatter about the quarterbacks today so just wanted to throw some recruiting notes out there.

Sheriron Jones won' be here for the Saturday 'Gruden Camp,' but he will be here Thursday and Friday before heading to Florida for the rest of the weekend. Right now, the Gators are still thought of as the team to beat but Tennessee will have avery good opportunity to try and change that.

Torrance Gibson says he will be in Knoxville this weekend with 2016 teammate Dredrick Snelson so we will be watching that very closely to see if that visit happens.

As we've mentioned several times, 2016 quarterback Jack Allison will be in town as well as Josh White and there are several other 2016 quarterbacks expected to make it in.

Even 2017 quarterbacks are heading to Knoxville this weekend including Alex Faniel (Who played QB for Ricky DeBerry's team as a freshman) and Stuart Head out of Georgia. As the week goes on I'm sure more names will pop up.

Now, concerning more 2015 quarterback visitors, Deondre Francois will likely be in on June 16, Quentin Dormady told me he will be in next week for sure.

But, it won't just be quarterbacks in this weekend as several defensive linemen are expected in. Kengera Daniel is planning to be in Knoxville this weekend. Also, I talked to junior college defensive end Jonathan Calvin tonight and he told me there's a good chance he visits Friday as well.

Also, look for Sam Darnold to make it to Knoxville later this month, on June 28 actually as he does a four-school tour beginning with Northwestern, then heading to see Duke and Wake Forest before ending in Knoxville.

Obviously, we're continuing to build names for the June 12, 13, 14, 16 camps as well as the Orange Carpet Day on June 21.

Finally, as we noted earlier this morning, Tennessee is hosting Justin Martin and Kyle Oliver on Tuesday.
