Why is Mettenberger due for a breakout game?

I keep hearing about how this season doesn't matter because Mett is going to turn on the lights against Bama on Saturday. Why is he "due" for a huge game, and if he is, why would it come against Alabama's defense?

You're hearing voices again....

Why do bama fans continue to start threads to convince themselves they will beat LSU?

Les was spotted leaving a new orleans voodoo shop with snake eyes, a virgin's hair, and the heart of a dragon. That's why.

I should probably stop perusing the Tiger Rant, to be honest.

Because he hasn't had one?

Honestly, I am just hearing that LSU fans hope he takes care of the ball and makes a couple of important third down throws. Basically, they hope he doesn't frick it up.

Solid advice...I can't look away from that mess either.

Watched him train during the summer, he was on point. He realizes what's at stake. He knows that the offense is taking the blame for LSU's problems...

Bama symbolizes the highest level of competition that the Tigers will face at this point in the season. Big Mett is a competitor who will seize the moment.
Side note...LSU's WR will step their game up!
So, who better to display your talents against...The #1 team in the land which possesses a defense so stiff that it makes Iron look like silly putty!
yea, I think Big Mett will have an out of body experience against Bama

I always heard old, enfeebled & early onset dementia-types heard music in their heads. Now you're telling me you hear random college football pundits opining on LSU's Quarterback situation?

I think most fans heard how much ability he has during the offseason and know that he needs to show that to be able to beat Alabama. It's more hoping than anything else until he proves in a big game that he has what it takes.

Because he has sucked all year and will be going against the best defense, by a long shot, he will have faced since becoming the guy
LSU logic, son

Ok, seriously, THIS will be the Jordan Jefferson break out game! Wait... I'm being told his eligibility is up and he never broke out. In fact, I'm being told he's in jail now and needs to break out.

They think that if they keep telling themselves he will have a career game they will believe it but theyre only setting themselves up for a huge meltdown.

I'm not a part of this school of thought. I've watched all the games this year. I know better than to get my hopes up based on what I have seen on the field each week.

Not really, we are expecting a big game from Mett...if he doesn't produce and we lose then we will move on. Try again next year...but if he does produce and all the stars line up and we beat Bama then we move into either 3-4 spot in the nation and wait for the weaklings holding down 2-4 to fall off so that we could play for the national title!! simple arifmatik!!!
