Basketball is far bigger than baseball in the SEC. Also, check my edit.

Bama has the 2nd most SEC championships in baseball, the 3rd most in basketball

Mizzou fans should also note that Bama fans are quick to pull out historical stats rather than address the current condition of their sports programs.

Bama fans LOVE...L.O.V.E...bringing up past glory.

And yet the SEC is quite possibly the worst major conference in basketball. That's why I called it the short bus.

Kentucky, and to a lesser extent, Florida are the saving graces of the conference.

UK is mostly everyone's rivalry, but they have good rivalries with Florida and Tennessee. Missouri will add to that.

If you think about it the SEC has 3 of the last 7 titles, no other conference can claim that.

Bama was 6th in basketball attendance with over 100,000 fans between them and the 7th place team. I think our arena is only around the 5th or 6th largest in the SEC. We also have one highest attendances in the nation in gymnastics and softball. Get out of here with the bama fans only care about football bull shite.

There's no way your numbers are only for home games. Bama would need 26 home games to reach 390000 fans even if every game was a sellout.

I am beginning to feel Mizzou isnt a fit in the SEC though, maybe in 15 years it will catch on? I think its too Yankee.

I promise you Florida have waaaaaaaaaay more Yankees than Missouri. Our state have a little over 6mil people. Most of their grandparents to great, great great GP's are from the deep south like Mississippi, Louisiana, Tenn, Ark. Trace their roots to the south for generations. That's why Missouri had a lot of "Southern" Attitudes towards blacks/slaves, etc. Even most blacks trace their roots to Mississippi(STL) and Louisiana(KCMO)

Vandy, Arkansas, and Alabama all have had some success in recent years, LSU had a brief run. A&M (if we can get our shite back together) and Mizzou will add some basketball beef to the conference.

UGA and Bama completely OWN women's gymnastics also.

Thank you for bringing up gymnastics as SEC rocks that!

Utah got some wins in the 90's but they have not been back since. They can bring the "I hate the SEC" tshirts all day long and Bama is still going to own them.

Bama is the UK polar opposite. UK has had some teams that could not break through in football and Bama has had some teams that could not break through in basketball. This is not to say either group of fans do not care about winning in their lesser sport.

I consider Vandy, Kentucky and UF to be in conference rivals

Memphis being an out of conference rival.

If you think this is what defines Southern culture in 2012, it just proves the point that you don't belong
