1). Watching the Bama game against Grinder State, I realized a strength that we can put to use on Offense. It seemed like early in the game, State ran the ball effectively from the gun, with an extra blocker on the line. We have a few players whose strengths are built for that style of play. I think that is our ticket to an early score. Bama is not as fast laterally as they have been the past few years.

2). Seeing that our D is capable of switching fronts, giving Minter the ability to audible our D front depending on the set they show could be a huge advantage for us. Both mingo and Sam are fast enough to stand up as a OLB in the 3-4, so we should take advantage of that as well.

How do you all feel about these observations?

I can neither confirm nor deny that either of those observations have validity to them.

I think you are right and that is a pretty accurate observation. This game will be a war just like every year.

LSU will have to do something creative to ove the ball and I don't mean trick plays I mean something like what you are talking about to move the ball with some consistency.

I think it will be a great game.

My reasoning for the view that yall aint as fast laterally is, like I said, the first drive or two that MSU ran fairly well to the edge. One of our few offensive strengths has been the stretch play. Our WRs block extremely well, as does our line on those plays. I think we could use that very well.

Eta: Thanks Scoop! I feel the same. I look forward to this game every year, and it never disappoints. Here's to no injuries and a hard fought game!

If I heard about Bama's "fat, slow linebackers" once last year, I heard about it a 1000 times.

I never heard that last year or this year, but it seemed last Saturday that MSU was getting to the edge quickly, but couldn't get up field due to bad blocking. We don't have that problem, thus the first half of my post. Not that they are slow, it's just their LBs from last year were quicker to the edge than the WRs most times! Haha!
