Why does Arkansas still play games in Little Rock?

I know a lot of the SEC schools use to play in different cities such as Bama in Birmingham and Ole Miss/MSU use to play in Jackson some but the only team that does it now a days is Arkansas. Why? I know Fayetteville is all the way in the northwest corner of the state but its not like there's something wrong with their stadium or campus.
If I was a flagshipper I would prefer to play all games on campus but that's just me

Central location in the state gives fans from east Arkansas a chance to go to at least one game a year.

Go to tardville and ask. They LOVE that topic (Great Stadium Debate)

I'd still like to play games in B'ham from time to time, so long as we don't play at Legion but a new super stadium.
But we don't. University makes more money. I guess it's the way it goes. And on that note: Arky needs to nut up and knock off playing in LR.

Because a segment of our fan base is too stupid/lazy/poor/drunk to drive their asses to Fayetteville.
BTW I am from Central Arkansas, hate the LR games, and want all home games moved to the actual campus.

...arkansas playing in Little Rock has everything to do with politics, and nothing to do with anything else.

Have you been to Southern Arkansas. Doubt if those trashy fans can afford to drive all the way to Fayetteville for a game. I drive from the north part of Arkansas to the SE parts going to Louisiana. I can't imagine those poor cotton pickin, pine tree, bastards driving all the way to F'ville.

1 in 30 Arkansas threads will dissolve into a GSD.
We actually had one a little while back that some really good discussion. The factors that drove the split home games are no longer an influence. The infrastructure to travel to NWA easily from all parts Arkansas is nearly in place, we have the new airport with coast to coast flights, and the great migration has shifted population northwestward.
The Arkansas economy while still largely agrarian based has obviously evolved with the monster that is Wal*Mart. The big money guys in LR (Stephens, Dillard, Ford, and a few attorneys and legislators) are seeing their influence diminish as their companies are sold off or face financial difficulty. Even one of NWA's biggest resident boosters (Lindsey)still has a soft spot for LR games as he was a plantation kid from Forrest City.
I don't think we ever got a public stance from Win Rockefeller, but I assume he pushed for LR games.
It's a tradition that we have to do away with, the stakes are too high not to. I'm good with 1 LR game a year against a decent opponent. I'd really like to play a service academy there since it is called "War Memorial Stadium". I just wish Arkansas wasn't so slow to react the facts of life, but that's how it is, everything moves and responds slower there.

Tradition, when it starts affecting the 10 other teams in the league you can then start bitching about it, OK?

Its the GSD. Its our thing and we all struggle with it. I am not from LR but I love the games because of the atmosphere and the golf course. DWI.
