I wouldn't think so, but can anyone see a day when one of the big 6 (or another school) gets a longhorn network type TV deal?

I hope not, for the sake of the conference.

Is there any SEC program that's the #1 school in a huge-arse state like Texas?

If this happens Slive will need Secret Service. But no I don't see it happening.

Probably not. But Florida would be the only school that could support a network like that

SEC regs prohibit members from making a LHN-type deal.

Do expect to see SEC-TV at some point.

Can anyone actually watch the LHN yet? Last I heard none of the major carriers gave a shite about it.

No it will never happen. The SEC network is going to be a cash cow and making a single school network would negate the impact the SEC network will have.

Plus, the LHN is proving how terrible the concept and implementation was. Much of their fanbase is very fairweather. You need a fanbase like Alabama or Notre Dame to really pull something like that off. Even then, it would be nothing compared to what is about to come.

Bama was going to get this, but they would have been required to show women's basketball games. And Bama would rather no one ever have to be tortured to watch their women's basketball games.

No. If the offending University doesn't like it, they can leave, according to Slive's bylaw "Bye".

Why would anyone want one? In all seriousness it is a financial black hole.

Texas only starts to rake in their $15M/year number AFTER all of ESPNs out of pocket expenses have been recouped.

A big rumor going around is that those expenses just got significantly larger because Texas put pressure on ESPN to get wider distribution ... how did LHN get on U-Verse? ESPN gave U-Verse a break on their total package to pick it up and no ESPN is passing that "discount" to U-Verse on to the LHN as part of their expenses that need to be recouped before Texas sees a dime.
