We don't take a nose dive in recruiting. Everyone seems to like Richt, and the parents do too.

Parents of thugs and non thugs alike seem to like Richt. I guess they missed the part of a severe lack of talent development in the past

I really don't think there will be any noticeable downward trend in recruiting, unless you look for specific anomalies within the annual recruiting data. For instances, last year CMR grabbed to RB's out of NC. These were great "gets" but he also lost out on alot of in state talent. In fact, Dart Visor; whose team is filled with GA players, stated recently that Georgia has as much, if not more talent than the state of Florida. So trends like not closing your borders may have implications, but to be honest, CMR will retire LONG before the real heat!

Recruiting won't drop. We had a top 5 class right after we went 6-7 in 2010.

Coaching is another story though.

This. Clearly the recruiting rankings don't tell the whole story though we did have an off year in 2010 (like Rivals 17th ranked) which is still impacting the team especially on the OL. What matters is who you end up with contributing on the field and in that perspective we have been sorely lacking for too many years. To date we lack quality depth on the OL and in the Secondary. UT had three 5 star receivers and still have two; we have none and our best receiver had to be moved to DB due to lack of depth there. Sorry, Wooten is just not a quality receiver in this league. We still don't have an adequate replacement for Orson Charles at TE either. I don't know what's going on with our front 7 on defense. They sure didn't look like last year's 7th ranked defense vs SC Saturday.

Regardless, until Richt starts recruiting to allow for attrition, we are going to have an ongoing problem with quality depth.

The top two recruits in the country for '13 are from Georgia and never really had a chance at either.

how about now?!?

Gamecocks just got Kelsey Griffen, Top 100 player nationally, Top 10 DT, Top 10 player in the state of GA.

I know he tried to commit to y'all, wasn't accepted, and then 2 weeks later commits to us. I guess y'all can afford to turn away top tier talent....

He was a better fit for our defensive system overall. He's more Ingram/Norwood's size, as apposed to Jenkins. It was a good move for him.

He didn't have the grades... nothing to do with UGA on that one other than who we are willing to accept I guess. UGA, for now, is pulling one of the best players out of SC, but SC and a lot of other states will pull out of GA due to the size and ease of seeing lots of schools in the ATL area and beyond.

I'll find out shortly. However, I don't believe that grades are the issue here. What I've heard "insiders" report is that he tried to commit and was told to hold off. This was b/c y'all were/are going for Adams and didn't want to dissuade him with Griffen's commit. Also, heard that a coach at uga told him that he wasn't the best fir for their system needs right now, which would seem right b/c you got to be REAL big to play NT or DE in a 3-4.

So, in otherwords, UGA was holding out for a better guy or UGA was concerned he may be a grades issue. I think he actually announced he was going to UGA and then was told to chill. Hell, he may be a 1st round draft pick in 4 years... who knows?

Recruiting started nose diving at 7:15 P.M on 10/06/2012 when UGA got butt fricked by SC. Spurrier is already calling UGA recruits telling them 3 in a row we own them, "sure you want to go there". The minute that they have a lot more talent than we do is when he starts embarrassing us just like the Goff days. ooooooooohhhhh, shite it's already started.

I'm halfway serious when I say that I want our next head coach to be a Satanist who sacrifices babies to the Dark Lord...I want to distance the program as far as possible from the do-gooder, turn the other cheek bullshite. I want a dickhead for a head coach who will tell it to our players like it is and that if they want to get buttfricked every weekend then they can transfer to Hampden-Sydney because we don't allow queers to play football in Georgia.

When I was in high school and was being recruited the only damn thing I cared about was if a program was winning.

Amen, Bear Bryant and Vince Dooley were considered assholes by players but they won. Pat Dye, Danny Ford, Woody Hayes even Joepa had this image but he was a dickhead. Stop babying the players. We need a coach with head coaching experience and a tough as shite staff bottom line, and I do not believe for one nanosecond that Richt can do that.
