I get we have injuries and a hard schedule, but so does everybody else in the conference. That only goes so far. All off-season we were told how we need to make sure that we as fans "step up". We have done our part. Why hasnt the staff done the same? I am not one of the people saying fire him after this season or something must be done now, but this cant carry on for much longer. If I am being reactionary, fine. But Pinkel has always seemed like a Big 12 coach. Anyways, thoughts?

I never thought he was a good coach....he can never win the big games his schemes are all predictable and as of right now he cant recruit outside the state of missouri for big time talent on a consistent basis

I with you. Read my other thread. However, I doubt anything will be done. This will continue into next year, and the gap between us and the rest of the SEC will get wider. At this point I'm hoping GP is ready to hang it up, because that's the only way we'll get a new coach in here.

I appreciate what GP, has done, but his successes have also put Mizzou in the position to get a good head coach in here to take the program to its next level. Strike while the iron is hot, Alden. Get Charlie Strong on the phone before Arky does.

Thats the thing. I am terrified that he wont want to hang it up for several years though. I wish a Charlie Strong would come. I really dont know who would be willing to come, but as I told my friend, we are one bad coach away from being a bad job again'. Usually I am always the optimistic one, but there is nothing to be optimistic about at this point. Whoever we go for needs to be a head coach with SEC ties, and knows FL/GA recruiting.

The stress has been eating at him all season. He's 60, I hope he is taking a long look at things and either sees the writing on the wall, or has the sac to man up and make the changes that need to be made, because we are on the precipice of pure unadulterated shite.

I do too, I really do, but have little faith in this happening. He is too set in his ways I'm afraid.

The rest of this season and next are guarantees. But after that, I hope somebody can get to him. We need somebody that knows this conference. We cant keep learning on the fly, and expect to keep winning.

Who else in the SEC is w/o their starting qb? If JF doesnt go down we win that game easy.

You can't scrap the whole offense midseason. They are trying to make adjustments to help the running game which is one of the few bright spots.

I never said anything about scrapping the offense. And again, I get the injuries that have happened. But we cant just hinge on, if JF plays we are good and if he doesnt we are screwed. You have to be prepared. You have to be able to adjust. I mean, what did Pinkel do to make it easier for CB after he came in? I could go on and on but you get the point. We have the talent to win several games, but you cant blame everything on injuries. Its not like once a couple key people get hurt "Well the season is lost, lets pack it in." The good teams adapt and overcome. And if you dont, well then thats on coach.

The problem with the offense is that it's off the field to quick. Way to many three and out. We can run the ball, I've seen it. Surely, the coaches see this.

The d is a good unit, but with the offense constantly 3 and out the D gets winded. This is what pisses me off the most. GP's strategy remains shoving the square peg in the round hole.

I'm just tired of even talking about it. GP is incapable of using his strengths to his advantage.

They do see it, they just haven't a clue how to fix it, or even make it better. They are in over their heads.

Or a MAC coach. I think he's done a decent job recruiting and gets away with his MAC style coaching because of it.

I haven't lost faith in Pinkel. He's done tremendous things for our program.

I've lost faith in Yost and Berkstresser. Also our ability to snap the fricking football.

Bingo. Mizzou fans are too quick to turn on Pinkel.

I agree you can't scrap it mid-season. That's why this season is wasted at this point. I don't know about if we win or lose with JF still in there. I give him credit for leading 2 drives that stalled out and we had to settle for FG's. I think the problems are deeper than just if one player is playing or not.

He has done tremendous things for Mizzou. I give him credit for it. If he doesn't make the changes now, then I will lose faith in him. If he doesn't man up and make those changes, then I will lose faith and start buying into the "He's too loyal" mantra.

Does anyone happen to know where they do the post game interviews from? Curious if it is in the locker room with the players around or if an area where only the coaches are.

I was listening to it on the radio here in St. Louis last night and there was a loud shouting match going on in the background. Was bad enough that they cut the interview short and went to commercial as soon as Pinkel finished answering the question he was asked. Just curious if it could have been coaches yelling at players or if it was more coaches yelling at other coaches.

Supposedly it was SR doing the shouting. They do the post game stuff in the locker room.

I'm a Pinkel koolaid drinker from the time he arrived. He HAS to make staff changes or we are destined for problems to continue. OC Yost must GO....
