I'm talking about losing one of them when it's not feasible to hire the long term solution, similar to the situation Arkansas was in. I guess Bama could promote Kirby and still be ok.

Not a fan of promoting the unproven assistant but under the circumstances you provided it is the best thing to do. Hiring Shula was similar as it was past the hiring period.

This is huge - Both Bama and LSU have assistants which could 'step up' in the event they are needed. Arkansas just didn't have any viable options.
