Yeah, it is really. One situation is a group of people who were forcibly brought to the U.S. to labor as less than humans due to their genetics, nationality and some bad luck, and who were later rightly freed from their bondage, only to be further discriminated against.
The other situation is a family of origin issue that leads to a deviant and disgusting lifestyle that those who practice it know is as wrong as anyone else.
Two very, very different scenarios.
