Croom actually did do a good job in laying a foundation. I don't buy the line that he told his players they wouldn't be there when all the good results happened. I also don't think that all the civil rights stuff was called for. I think it was needed but not to the effect that they used it for this piece. I think if Croom had taken over a program that was in better shape and had hired good coordinators and just been a coach, he could have been very successful. With his high morals came high loyalty, and that might have been his biggest mistake. Seems like he isn't happy with MSU after leaving. Hopefully he sees the direction that our program is headed and sees that it was a good decision and he comes back to see us more often.

Dan Mullen can beat the 4 weak OOC opponents and the likes of Vandy, Kentucky and Ole Miss. Outside of Ole Miss, Auburn is the first team he beat in the west and that took him 4 years. You are more competitive but ask yourselves this, in the SEC is there really a difference in finishing 4-7 in the west? You honestly know that the closest you are getting to a title is when you make that hour and a half trip to Tuscaloosa the last weekend in Nov.

Logic is not your strong suit, but you have ignorance in abundance.

First, Mullen gets a pass for his first year, unless we need to rehash what Croom did to Saban. Those 4 teams' combined record excluding games played against each other(at the start of this season): 76-4 Those losses: @Clemson, @Georgia, @South Carolina, vs Ohio St. Oh, and 2 national titles(one won by the weakest of the 4). That is why the "west" argument is ignorant. But of course, you can always say "1-3" in most cases after this season.

There is a big f'n difference between 3rd and 7th in the west. Big. Look at any computer metric you would like. We've gone from averaging ~80th to averaging ~30th. That is 50 teams we've surpassed in Mullen's short tenure. We're starting to raise the money and build the facilities to compete on a higher level as well.

He literally personally stated that quote in the documentary.

Because Dan Mullen is doing soooooo much better as a head coach.

Croom's offenses usually ranked in the 100's nationally. He went to one bowl in five years because the ball bounced our way in every way possible. Dan, on the other hand, has won two bowls in a row, is 4-0, is expanding the stadium, and is about to complete our football only facility. But yeah not much of a difference.

Croom was right about one thing. It doesn't happen overnight. We are building. We are also 4-0, and basically fully healthy. We might not win the conference, but we are building towards it, and if you can't see that, you are blind or not watching.

You literally have one SEC west win vs a team not in your own state. Forgive me, but I will wait and see how well State does at building a program the next few years.

What math are you using?

I am using the math that the rest of the world uses not bama math. .8% is less than 1%. That figure is not correct. In the real world 8% is a hell of a lot different than .8%. Basic math is now over you are dismissed.

Take off your damn cow glasses moron. Yea, you haven't lose to the likes of Maine, UAB or Tulane but what have you done in the SEC? Nothing! You are going to finish 4th in the west at best, deal with it. Yea you beat Auburn, but big deal, they suck. You think you some big ish because you beat a crappy Michigan team in a bowl game? You are a perennial 7-5 team. Don't act like you are going to over throw the powers because you know you aren't. You are a cow college in the crappiest state in the union with a very poor base of athletes that you can't even keep in state. Bama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas and whom ever else raid your state and leave you with the scraps. You can't even buy a player correctly and you think that you are on the rise? Get over yourselves. Good luck in the Egg Bowl this year, I don't think the Ole Miss will be that easy of a win, plus you already won your one game in the west this year so.....

Somebody's girl fricked a State grad.

Gotdamn you are fricking stupid. And mad. Real mad. Like the kind of backwoods redneck mad that dumbasses get when they get owned in an argument with logic and statistics, so you throw out insults and make yourself look even more stupid.

If you that far up your own cow arse then there is no help for you. Miss State is a crappy football school and Starkville is the worst town in the SEC. Your fan base if more delusional than Auburn's. You effing idiot. When have you ever been anything but a craptacular program?

i think the civil rights "stuff" was integral to the croom story.

it was the backdrop to what lead up to him playing/coaching at alabama and him being the first black coach in the sec and puts into perspective what a big deal all of this was. croom is also of an age that the civil rights movement, and what came before & after, was an incredible influence on his life.

Ummmm,
beaten Florida in the Swamp for the first time since the mid-1960's...
beaten Georgia for the first time period since the 1970's...
own a winning record vs the East

I'm not sure so I will have to check- but Mullen may be the 1st State coach to have us ranked 3 straight seasons

To say we upgraded from that blithering idiot is an understatement

You answered this much more diplomatically than I would have.
