I literally haven't heard that term since high school when my buddies and I met a couple of girls from Missouri in Gulf Shores. One of the girls practically stalked my Auburn buddy for a couple of years even driving from Missouri to Auburn unannounced to suprise him one night.

FWIW, I think Alabama itself is an awesome state. You have mountains/hills in the north, beaches in the south, lots of lakes. All things I like. Some of the people seem cool too.
You may have a slightly higher-than-average percentage of rednecks, though. But that's OK, we have them too.
And Teague - weren't you stationed at Fort Leonardwood? You won't see many attractive women there.
