For LSU it is simply a matter of showcase. Oregon and WVU provides much beter opportunity. The D looks just as good but the playmaking/game changing of Tyrann is clearly not evident. The O is more complete and will prove to be considerably better. I don't know how the year turns out but I believe this team separates itself from 2011 team.

For UA the 2011 D may have been the GOAT. This years edition isn't but it is very good. The O from last year was pretty fair but McCarron took a step up in bowl game. The question for 2012 was/is: Does AJ maintain/improve. I think so. It remains to be seen if this years edition is better than last, we'll see.
