I've been looking over these message boards the last few days, and finally wanted to say something to my fellow Mizzou fans.
I want to remind some of you that you are not Yankees. Even if your personal belief is that of the Yankees (which would be a shame), it still doesn't mean you're in Yankeeville (which is what one poster has as his location).
I saw another poster with a picture of a MU Tiger with the words 'Damn Yankees'.
My feeling is you're doing this for one reason; to agitate. The only reason you're doing it is to gain an edge in this never ending game of trying to frustrate someone else online.
Have some pride in your heritage. Yes, Missouri was a mixed state... but its heritage is much deeper on the Confederate side. Missouri and Kentucky are the exact same in this matter, expect Missouri was essentially fighting for the Confederate independent mindset long before the Civil War even started.
Instead of using others misguided understanding of that time period (It amazes me that most southerners have no clue that Missouri was such an active state in the Civil War and so rooted in the Confederacy)
There is no need to go off on a tangent about Quintrill, Jesse James, and the long heritage between the Confederates and Missouri. I'm not even close to an expert, I just know enough to know that putting 'yankeeville' is dumb. You might as well be a Beaker fan if that is the case... and you don't want to be a Beaker do you? So then please refrain from being a Yankee knucklehead. Thanks.
----------------
Also, If you are a fan of another team and argue that yes Missourians are Yankees, you are showing a tremendous lack of knowledge of something that you're supposed to know a lot about. So please, I welcome you to call us Yankees.

When I want mayonnaise served on my fries, I go to Missouri.

I think you are a brilliantly subtle troll. Well done for your first post!

Dude the reason Mizzou fans on here have anything about "Yankee" is because that's what everyone has been calling us on the rant. You just opened the can of worms again it appears. And yes we all know that we aren't yankees, but it won't change the fact that a fair amount of gumps and roadgator( who's from the bastion of southern heritage...Florida ) will call you a yank around these parts.

If I've learned one thing about Missouri from this place it's that a Missourian is ever so gracious to give me a frickin' history lesson any chance they get.

Yankees are winners. Rebs are losers.
Historical fact.

Well it clearly agitated you.
Take a step back from the keyboard:
1) Don't you think we've done this here before since the SEC move was announced nearly a year ago and some of us have been here about that long?
2) It's a joke man, take it easy.
3) Welcome. We need more Mizzou posters.

The Civil War was 150 years ago, let it go.
I lived in Richmond, VA for 12 years and will always refer to them as yankees, but if want to try and convince me YALL are Southern, go for it. I won't be the one fighting a losing battle. If it makes you feel better, I consider Kentucky the north as well.
In my eyes the South is AR, TN, and NC south, and AR and LA east. TX is the southwest
