You know who Chicken is right? You should probably fear the wrath of Chicken in response to statements saying another team site is bigger or better than his, especially when you're posting on it. Don't get me wrong, I'm on TexAgs too, but you might want to tone it down before you get the banhammer.

that's ok...I am just busting this dude's baloney...

But I am curious as to why this guy is so definitive. I would like to know what "largest" means to him.

Not that Texas has a reputation for thinking they're the largest at everything...

I don't honestly know if TexAgs is the largest, but TD and Texags are right up there.
I know they do get an amazing amount of traffic though.

Chicken, isn't there a way to compare site traffic between websites?

The free board on TexAgs is fricking terrible and its really a disgrace. The premium board is great and you will not find better info on Texas A&M Athletics. Yes, I have subscribed to the other sites. They just don't compare content wise.

there is no easy way...Alexa isn't very accurate. We use Google Analytics and Comscore to track traffic, and they will be the most accurate but those numbers aren't published for the public to see.

Plus, SECrant.com's stats are not included in TD's numbers, and SR's numbers are growing...

if you hate TexAgs so much why did you accrue nearly 12 thousand posts in just two years of posting?

Not trying to be disrespectful and no I don't know who Chicken is. I haven't been on the Rant all that long but have enjoyed the discussion. I just get tired of Aggies attacking Aggies and the Texags bashing is tiresome. For pure Aggie info it's great. In the spirit of disclosure I have been on Texags since the very early days though. For discussion with other fan bases though it is nothing close to the Rant. Almost every opposing fan post goes one of 2 ways there, pure smackfest or overly complementary. Rarely any good back and forth. Tigerdroppings is easily the best LSU site as well.

Every site has a niche. I just don't get why folks feel the need to bash Texags, I don't like it when folks bash the other Aggie sites either as it is tiresome. I will certainly try to be careful in my "praise" though so as not to sound like a commercial, though I don't see how SEC Rant or Tigerdroppings really competes with them.

Texags is the largest college team website on the internet. It has positives and negatives. It has some great raw information available there and it is officially connected to the 12th Man Foundation so they have content no one else has. It has some really good non football forums. The premium forums are also decent to great. The problem is the "A&M Football" forum is populated by all non subscribers and hard to stomach. Essentially all the good posters are gone to the premium side.

The link in question has some pretty solid info.

Its a website that toes the company line, Looch is kind of a total tool, the "content" is just meh. Quantity doesn't make for quantity. There are only so many years where players can get bigger and faster. They put themover over other websites in terms of production and quantity of information but other forums without the official ties have more free discussions and flow of information. For example, I remember Looch was sticking up for Sherman before he got fired. Which is flat out embarrassing. He is our vehicle for admin info to leak out. Our chip brown. Anytime he has the latest rumors etc, they are either leaked on other forums first or the admins gave him the go ahead. Texags was instrumental in making sure every make believe coaching search rumor was heard by the masses. Im not a conspiracy theorist but Richt and Petersen? Give me a fricking break Looch. It was and always was Sumlin from day 1, nevermind just about every person I talked to wanted Smart. shite, he won the student newspaper poll despite being added 2 days late. Basically, its a regular comedy hits reel if you dont like A&M.

Does making fun of TexAgs make you cool?

It's the biggest collection of Ags on the Internet. It's easily the best place to go if you're looking to find A&M discussion

Self loathing Ags are so fricking annoying

No but it doesnt make me wrong either. I love being an Ag, but that doesnt change the stupidity there. It IS embarrassing and anyone who doesnt pencil A&M into a BCS game every single year can see that.

quote:

I don't mind having A&M in the SEC, but I didn't anticipate having to hear so much about the longhorns. I couldn't care less about the Castrated Bull University That Pretends It's Michigan

The simple truth is without them and their actions, we would have never gotten to the SEC. Breaking up the two biggest schools in Texas doesnt happen easily. To be blunt, we have been chasing them and their success most of A&Ms existence, save for the cheating later years of the SWC. We took and are taking the steps to move on and stop talking about them so much but as of now, it remains unfinished business. They are ever present in our daily lives. Until the new lines in the state are settled, until we start playing again, its not over for us. But Ill say this. Ill bet we end up with more that "a sliver of east Texas."

My old handle had about as many from 1999-2010. You'd be amazed how many posts you can accrue when you're stuck listening to Dave South on the radio because you're not televised...AGAIN and you're in the game thread because of the fact that you can't understand what's going on from South. Also, when I was deployed last year, if AFN didn't broadcast the game...I was stuck without even Dave South.

I was on that site from 1999-2010 without getting banned, and as soon as I questioned why you would pay for information that turns out to be WRONG...permaban, with no warning or explanation. (Corey Nelson fiasco)

I know exactly why I was perma'd the second time and went out with a bang.
